Weekly Update: 24 weeks

I promise that there is a noticeable change from week to week in these view from the top pictures.

How far along: 24 weeks (Viability day, yay!)

Total weight gain/loss: holding steady at 20 lbs this week

Maternity clothes: I discovered that some maternity dresses that I bought months ago, I now fill out

Stretch marks: Same old, same old

Sleep: If I am super tired, I sleep great

Best moment this week: I had an OB appointment last Wednesday and everything is still checking out good. Pumpkin was a good boy this time and cooperated so we could hear his heartbeat and only kicked the Doppler once. The only downside is she confirmed my suspicions that my uterus is as high as it is, which is normal, I just have a short torso. This makes me nervous because that only means that we grow out or he goes up in my ribs soon.

Movement: We kept feeling him push out around my belly button and I am starting to feel things higher like he is stretching.

Food cravings: I am hating food but look forward to dessert every day.

Food aversions: I really just do not want food lately. Deciding what to eat is just a hassle.

Gender: Baby boy

Labor Signs: Goodness no

Belly Button in or out? I am pretty sure it will never pop.

What I miss: I miss not worrying about every twinge or lack of movement for 5 minutes.

What I am looking forward to: My mom and Ally are coming this week so I am super excited to see them and getting a lot done for the nursery.

Weekly Wisdom: I am coming to see more and more reasons how I am so lucky to have Ben as my husband and Pumpkins daddy (and not because it was just Fathers Day).

Milestones: 24 weeks is viability day, which means that God forbid something happen, Pumpkin could possibly survive if born now. It is something I definitely do not want to deal with, but it is just good to know we have made it this far.

Measurements: Chest- +.25”, Waist- +.5”, Hips- -.75”, Circumference- +.25”

I hope all the fathers out there had a wonderful Fathers Day yesterday. Pumpkin and I made Ben pancakes and gave Ben the Star Wars lunchbox I had hidden in my closet for 6 months and a card that we (I) made.

As I mentioned above, my mom and my cousin Ally are coming to visit me this week and we are going to be working on some of the nursery stuff. By this time next week most of the things you see will below will be turned into pillows, picture frames, wall decor, and a blanket. Wish us luck that we get it all done!

Weekly Update: 23 weeks

How far along: 23 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 20 lbs (not happy with this number, but I swear it is all baby)

Maternity clothes: Belly bands and dresses

Stretch marks: Now the tanned ones are peeling from being sunburned

Sleep: Eh….it is not terrible but I wish I could sleep on my back or my belly more.

Best moment this week: We got all the fabric for his room and a few other projects purchased. I am excited to get working on them soon.

Movement: So I have noted that it is mostly at night time. Well this week, he moved some but it was not a ton. Then this weekend he moved like crazy. I realized that it seems to coincide with times that Ben is around. I wonder if he is more active because he hears Ben’s voice or because we are both talking more to each other.

Food cravings: All I wanted were sweets this week.

Food aversions: I had really bad heartburn for a few days so nothing sounded good.

Gender: Oh boy!

Labor Signs: No freaking way!

Belly Button in or out? Mine is so far back and still is, I am not sure it will ever pop out. However, it is making a very awkward looking flat spot on my bump.

What I miss: Being comfortable in my own body. I am starting to be uncomfortable all the time (and I know I still have 4 months to go). I am just having lots of abdominal pressure and a pinching pain in my hips.

What I am looking forward to: My parents are coming within the next month and helping us get the nursery started.

Weekly Wisdom: Assurance from other pregnant ladies that my weight is normal.

Milestones: Nothing major this week.

Measurements: Chest- -.25”, Waist- +.5”, Hips- +.25”, Circumference- I will start posting the updates next week

Weekly Update: 22 weeks

How far along: 22 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 16 lbs

Maternity clothes: My mom made me some belly bands which I started wearing this weekend. I love that I can wear my normal bottoms again.

Stretch marks: Same but the ones on my stomach are now tanned

Sleep: I slept horribly at the beach but at home I am much better. It all depends on my level of tired

Best moment this week: Pumpkin seemed to really like the beach and floating in the water. That and running away from his aunt Lindsey when she tried to feel him move.

Movement: It is mostly at night time that he is super active but he moves during the day.

Food cravings: I love fresh fruits and anything with citrus

Food aversions: I started to think back on some of the acidic things that bothered me in my 1st trimester and they make me gag…still.

Gender: Still a boy

Labor Signs: I need these to stay far away for another 16 weeks.

Belly Button in or out? It is still far in there but it is definitely firming up. It has created a flat spot on my bump that looks weird in some clothes.

What I miss: Sleeping comfortably and not grunting every time I have sit up, or walk.

What I am looking forward to: I have a huge to- do list and I am looking forward to getting things crossed off, specifically working on the nursery and starting our registry.

Weekly Wisdom: A friend of mine assured me that I am ahead of the curve that most first time moms are, and that made my anxious mind feel much better.

Milestones: Pumpkin should be a whole pound now. I find that exciting!

Measurements: Chest- +.75”, Waist- +.25”, Hips- +.75”

Gulf Shores: Take 1

Last week Ben and I headed to Gulf Shores, AL for our first beach trip on the year. This time was with my dad, stepmom and siblings. We had my stepbrother Joe and his wife Leslie, who are expecting a little one 7 weeks after us, my stepbrother David and my baby sister Lindsey.

We arrived on Sunday and the beach was packed. Everyone was enjoying their Memorial Day weekend vacation. After a 6 hour drive we got there and hung out with everyone for a bit and then decided to take a walk on the beach, well everyone but Ben who fell asleep on the couch.

Joe, Bobbie, David and me. No idea why but Bobbie and the boys kept making faces in the pictures.

Memorial Day Monday- The beach started to clear out a bit. We all got out in the water and it was so much fun. Last year when we went, it was right after the oil spill and we could not get in. Of course, this also meant we got sunburned.

Before the sunburns

Tuesday- After a long day spent in the sun the day before, we decided to take a break. We went to Fort Morgan and walked around. Of course we were in the sun still but it helped that we were going in and out of things.

Everyone but Lindsey. Bobbie, Dad, David, Joe, Leslie, Ben and I.

My daddy and I

He can almost fit through that doorway.

It was so hot that the tar was melting.

When we got back, we dropped off the boys at the condo and us girls went and did a little shopping and lunch. With two pregnant ladies and a soon to be grandma, poor Lindsey had to hear about babies the whole time.

Wednesday- For some unknown reason, I could not sleep on this trip, so this morning I woke up at 5:40 and watched the sunrise with my parents, Joe and Leslie. We sat on our balcony and watched the sunrise, dolphins swim past us and then we went to the pier and watched some guy catch a shark. It was worth the lack of sleep.

Sunrise in the surf

Still sunburned we decided to head to Pensacola to the Naval Aviation Museum. Ben and I had gone last year and walked around for an hour but this time we really got into it and spent a good 3 hours there.

We also went to the lighthouse on base. Only dad and Lindsey were brave enough to walk up the 177 steps to the top. I totally would have gone had I not been pregnant and prone to exhaustion, especially when combined with heat.

When we got back that afternoon we ventured back out to the water to play in the waves. The water was a lot calmer than the first day but it still felt good. This time because the water was so calm we saw a lot more sealife, including these tiny seahorse looking worms, a tiny fish that kept following my dad and a tiny crab.

This is not the best picture but me in my new maternity bathing suit. I figured I would go crazy and get this since I am not concerned with my lack of abs right now.

Yep, we kind of match.

Dad and his manly oven mitts.

We had the traditional shrimp boil that night for dinner.

Lindsey took this on one of her walks and I love it.

Thursday- Our last day and Bobbie wanted to go shopping again, and again the babies dominated. We went for a few hours and then headed back to the condo to get in a little beach time. The waves were great this day! This was also the day we had said we were going to go out to eat. Everyone got all dressed up so we could take pictures and then we headed out to eat, where we were joined by Leslie's parents and my cousin Bo who is currently in Pensacola taking classes.

See the faces. We could not get a serious one with these three.

The grand babies.

I look ginormous next to my tiny sister.

I swear I am not that short and just got stuck standing in a hole.

Is it just me or did this bump grow massively over a week.

The pregnant girl was for some odd reason, also the bartender.

This was such a great trip and so good to spend quality time with family that I miss so much. As I mentioned before, this was our first trip to the beach this summer. We will be going back in late July/early August with my moms family. It will be 36 of us crazy Millers in one house for a week. That will interesting!
