Miller's 3 Month Pictures

Part of my reasoning in spending so much money on getting me a DSLR was to take Miller's 1st year pictures. I am by no means a professional but it is a hobby and how can I get better if I do not practice. I had always planned on getting Miller's pictures taken at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months and if I paid a couple of hundred dollars (at least that) per a session, then a camera would more than pay for itself. There is no way I would attempt to have done his newborn pictures because I was too spaced out, but now that we are more settled I knew I could do it.

I learned that the bigger challenge was the editing process. Every time I would think I was done editing, I would learn a new trick and start all over again. I finally got them to where I am pretty happy with them. I still have lots to learn though.

I would really appreciate any comments you all have. Please make me feel good about my decision to not spend the money on a professional session.

This is my favorite

He always has his mouth open right now. Either he is mimicking us, trying to eat everything, or giving kisses.

Love those eyes!

So tired of all of this! (BTW, taking these before he had a meltdown was stressful).

He is always slobbering and blowing bubbles and I love that the lens flare framed it.

I am actually begging for comments now!

Still here

I promise I am still around. Miller and I have been in Knoxville for the past week and I keep forgetting to post pictures. Before that, I took Miller's 4 month pictures and I spent a while editing them. I am still learning so much between the actual taking of pictures and editing them. Here are some from this week in Knoxville so far.

Miller is his fathers child.

First time in the highchair. He did pretty good for most of the time.

This is a hat he got from his cousin James for Christmas next year.

Doing his chin ups. Got to keep up that baby physique.

He loves eating his fingers.

Hiking on the rocks at the park. He even has his trusty walking sticks (get it...trusty).

Giving his Ninny kisses.

Tummy time (a rare occurrence).

I promise I will have his 4 month pictures up as soon as I get them watermarked.

Miller: Month Three

Weight: 14lbs 13oz (+6lbs 11oz)

Height: 24" (+2 1/2")

Head: 17" still (+2")

Sleep: There is very little that is consistent. As soon as we think he is setting a pattern, he changes. Most nights he sleeps for a 5-6 hour stretch in his crib, then comes and gets in our bed (which we are working on weaning from that), eats, sleeps for 3 hours, eats and sleeps for another 3 hours. During the day, he normally takes 2-3 catnaps, and then one 2-3 hour nap.

Eating: He eats every 2.5- 3 hours during the day. He is consistently eating on both sides, which I am more comfortable with than when he was eating on one side only.

Best Moment: We have had a few nights of sleeping through the night, but I still think the best moments are when he sees me and smiles. I love to see that recognition in his face.

Milestones: He is getting stronger and stronger. He finally started letting me put him on his activity mat for a while so I can get stuff done. I think it is good since he learns to play by himself some. Also, we got him to sleep in his crib AND most nights he actually falls asleep by himself. Even though he does not stay in his crib all night, this is still a great step in the right direction.

Monthly Wisdom: If you know me, I love to plan things, even more than enjoying those plans. This is the perfect time for me to learn to stop planning the future and living for today because Miller is going to be grown up before I know it. Geez, it makes me tear up just saying that.

Goals for the Upcoming Month: We are really going to try to get Miller to stay in his bed all night. This is partly our laziness when he gets in bed with us and just wanting to sleep. We are going to work on getting date nights and time at the gym.

I have some more pictures from his 3 month shoot that we did but I am working on editing them right now. It is all a new process to me so it is taking some time while I learn.

We finally got Miller's newborn pictures back. He has grown so much since then, it is hard to believe how little he was back then. Here ya go!
